Plenty of good parking. Route up the hill wends its way along elk trails and generally follows the path made by trees blown down in the May 18, 1980 explosion. This seems to be the shortest way to the upper road that leads around to the front of the north peak. It goes from 3800' to 4200' on a gentle slope.
