Jeff Park Ridge

I first took this hike in the '50s when Uncle Max took David, Tom, Jon and me  on a tour of nifty Cascade lakes (Marion, Pamelia, Ann, Breitenbush). Molly and I were able to negotiate the very rough road, driving my Supra, which has high clearance for a car, the 6 miles up to Skyline Rd. from the Clackamas River. There was a long oil spill where someone's car had hit a rock.

Less than a mile from the lake is this rock wave formation

In 2010 a fire raced through the area

Jeff Park Ridge had snow fields we had to ascend, not too bad in the afternoon, but the next moring they were hard and icy. I had a job as a US Forest Service fire lookout and my tower was on Sisi Butte, seen at the extreme left edge, twin buttes. Mt. Hood in the background, and Ollalie Butte on the right.

Closer look at Sisi, the twin lumps, 5617' high near the headwaters of the Clackamas River. The lookout tower where I spent the summer of '62 was on the west lump (x) and it has since been replaced with a new tower. A road goes to the top, but it is gated at Skyline Road.
