Ted Shillock Sculpture

Bio

Ted Shillock was born in Portland, Oregon, August 1, 1944. A desire to experience other cultures found him hitchhiking around the world in the years 1963-64. Countries that preserved their history in stone monuments such as in Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Japan, to name a few, developed a new awareness in Ted.

His first solo show took place in Cannon Beach, Oregon, where he was a long time resident. His desire to work in stone became more obvious while living/working in Carrara, Italy during the years 1984-85. Here he was exposed to sculptors from various countries and their exclusive use of marble as a medium, a material he has sculpted ever since.

His work can be seen at the library in Lake Oswego, Oregon and at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon. His studio is in Portland.
