Mt. Washington from the SE, showing East Face and West Ridge. Our route to the summit followed the north ridge and then the north face, on the opposite side of this image.
Pausing to rest on the hike to Mt. Washington. A group of about 8 drove to Mt. Washington early in the morning. We hustled along the 3 mile trail to the north ridge approach. We roped up to cross a gap at the base of the summit pinnacle and scrambled to the summit. Rated a 5.3, climbing was not hairy.
Ron Hohnstein and Leo Fitzpatrick take a look back at the route.
